Huawei Watch Settings: the HarmonyOS menu on a Watch GT, ten entries deep
Huawei's watches run a wrist version of HarmonyOS, and their settings menu is a list of ten entries scrolled with the crown, with the general options folded into a single Settings row at the end. This page walks that list as it stands on HarmonyOS 5 for the Watch GT line, explains what HarmonyOS 4 shared with it, and links every entry to a screen you can open.

How Huawei Watch organises its Settings
Bluetooth leads with the paired phone and the option to forget it, then Wi-Fi, which the GT line uses for updates and music. Watch Faces picks Classic, Digital, Art or Gallery faces, opens the editable ones and holds the Always On Display switch. Display and Brightness sets auto brightness, the screen-on time, raise-to-wake, the AOD style and text size. Sound and Vibration chooses weak or strong haptics and the ringtone.
Health is the page most owners open: continuous heart rate and its alerts, SpO2 monitoring, stress, TruSleep, activity reminders and cycle tracking. Celia and Apps holds the voice assistant, raise-wrist-to-speak, the AppGallery and the watch-face store. Notifications selects the apps allowed to alert and Do Not Disturb. Settings, the catch-all, has language, time, water lock, System update, Accessibility and Reset. About closes the list with the device, HarmonyOS version, model and MAC address.
What changes between versions
Two releases are here, HarmonyOS 4 and HarmonyOS 5, the software of the Watch GT 4 and GT 5 generations. They share the ten entries; the differences sit inside Health, where the newer sensors add rows, and on the About screen, which reports the HarmonyOS version you chose. Huawei's phone HarmonyOS, with its much longer list, is a separate system in the simulator.
Three settings worth knowing the path to
- Settings > Health > Heart rate alerts
A high and a low limit that buzz the wrist when resting heart rate crosses them. They are off until set, and this is the only place to set them on the watch itself.
- Settings > Settings > Water lock
Disables the touchscreen for swimming and showers; holding the crown afterwards clears the speaker. It lives inside the general Settings row, which is why people miss it.
- Settings > Display and Brightness > AOD style
Which face is shown when the screen is dimmed, separate from the Always On Display switch under Watch Faces. If the dimmed face looks wrong, this row is the reason.
Questions people ask about Huawei Watch settings
Where is the settings menu on a Huawei Watch GT?
Press the crown for the app list and open Settings, or swipe down from the watch face and tap the gear. The ten entries shown here are the whole on-watch menu; the Huawei Health app on the phone mirrors most of them.
Is this the same HarmonyOS as on Huawei phones?
It shares the name and the design language, but the watch list is ten entries against the phone's twenty-plus. The simulator carries the phone version as HarmonyOS and this one as Huawei Watch.
Is this the real Huawei Watch menu?
It is a simulation of the on-watch settings with the entries and wording of HarmonyOS 4 and 5. The paired phone, model and MAC address shown are sample values.
