Samsung Tizen TV Settings: eight menus, and the one called General and Privacy
Samsung's Smart TVs run Tizen, and their settings open as a side panel of eight menus, each expanding into a column of options driven from the remote. This page walks that panel as it stands on Tizen 10, the software of the 2026 sets, explains what Tizen 8 and 7 shared with it, and links every menu to a screen you can open.

How Samsung Tizen TV organises its Settings
Picture comes first, with the modes from Dynamic to Filmmaker and the Expert Settings beneath: colour tone, gamma, contrast enhancer, local dimming and the Picture Clarity motion controls. Sound has the modes, Adaptive Sound+ and the output choice between the TV speakers and a soundbar over HDMI. Broadcasting handles channel scanning and the programme guide. Network shows the status and opens the connection settings.
Connected Devices is the Device Manager: universal remote setup, Bluetooth, Input Signal Plus for HDMI 2.1 sources, Anynet+ for HDMI-CEC and source renaming. General and Privacy is the menu with everything else: Bixby and voice wake-up, System Manager with time, language and the PIN, Eco Solution and power saving, the privacy choices and Reset. Apps lists the installed services. Support holds Software Update, Device Care with storage and self-diagnosis, remote management and About This TV with the model, software and Tizen version.
What changes between versions
Three releases are here. Tizen 7 is the 2023 sets, Tizen 8 the 2024 sets, and Tizen 10 the 2026 lineup, which Samsung also plans to bring to some older TVs under its longer update policy. The eight menus are the same across them; what differs sits inside Picture and Sound as processing options arrive, and on the About This TV page under Support, which reports the Tizen version you chose.
Three settings worth knowing the path to
- Settings > Connected Devices > Input Signal Plus
Enables the full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth on a port, which a console or PC needs for 4K at 120 Hz and VRR. It is off per input by default, and it is the setting most new owners are missing.
- Settings > General and Privacy > Eco Solution
The brightness optimisation and power-off timers that make a new Samsung look dim. Turning it off here is the usual first step in picture setup.
- Settings > Picture > Picture Clarity
Samsung's motion smoothing, the soap-opera effect, set to Auto out of the box. Custom lets you keep judder reduction and drop the blur reduction.

Where is HDMI-CEC on a Samsung TV?
Under Connected Devices as Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC), next to Input Signal Plus and the External Device Manager. Samsung uses its own name for the feature.
Where are time, language and the PIN on a Samsung TV?
Under General and Privacy, in System Manager. The same menu has Bixby, power saving, privacy choices and Reset, which is why it is the longest of the eight.
Is this the real Tizen menu?
It is a simulation of the Samsung TV settings panel with the menus and wording of each Tizen release. The model number, serial and network shown are sample values.
